The Resurrection

Keith Sharp | Answering The Watchtower Society

The Watchtower teaches that the wicked cease to exist and will not be raised from the dead. “Not those whose memory was blotted out in Gehenna because of unforgivable sins but persons remembered by God will be resurrected with the opportunity to live forever” (Reasoning. 339). They assert that the blessed will be recreated. “Resurrection is a restoration to life of the nonexistent dead…. Resurrection does not involve the restoring of the original identical body of the creature….” (Make Sure of All Things. 311). All the dead, both good and evil, shall be raised (John 5:28-29; Acts 24:14-15). The body that dies will be raised in a changed form (1 Corinthians 15:35-54; Philippians 3:20-21).
